A domain name is the name portion of a web address, which allows users to visit the site. Websites in the United States are typically registered under .com, .net, or .org, although there are several others that aren’t as widely used. Websites built in other countries may end with the abbreviation of the country, such as .uk. A website must have a domain name in order to be registered online and useable by anyone with an internet connection.

There are copyright and privacy laws in place that help protect web developers and others who create websites, so that multiple people cannot register the same domain name. Once it has been taken, it is no longer available unless the site is shut down. It is smart for web designers to select a domain name that is easy to remember, so that customers and other visitors to the site will have no trouble typing it into the address bar.

Some sites can be easily confused with others, so before selecting a domain name, performing a web search for similar names might be smart. Businesses might not want their sites confused with websites geared toward adult entertainment or similar content, as this could deter potential clients who have stumbled on the wrong site by accident.

Once the domain name has been chosen, it can be registered through several different hosting websites. This will often come at a fee, and the price will depend on the popularity of the name. Thousands of potential customers spend hours every day online, so a quality website is a must.

Many people are concerned about the safety of their personal information while shopping online or using other websites that require certain information. With the risk of systems being hacked and private details being sold or made public, there is a much higher risk of identity theft online.

There are ways to protect one’s identity when using technology. If a website requires sign-up, put in as little information as is required. Don’t fill in any portions that are optional, as these can be a security risk. When using a credit card or putting in very private information, such as a social security number, users should verify a picture of a lock near the domain name on the browser.

Many hackers are now using email to gain access to personal financial information. Unsuspecting victims receive emails from what they believe to be their bank or credit card company, with a link to click and verify bank account information. This link will then lead directly to the hacker’s site, designed to look like the bank’s site, and privacy is lost. If such an email or message is received, go directly to the secure website of the bank instead of clicking a link. There should be additional information listed there, if the threat is real. If not, share the email with the bank.

When using the Internet, it’s smart to follow any instincts. If a person feels that an offer or gimmick is too good to be true, it probably is. Protecting one’s identity is crucial, as the theft of this can leave a person feeling betrayed, and could lead to the loss of money and other assets.

With billions of web pages available on the Internet, it may be difficult to know for sure when a copyright violation is taking place. Some photos or text may be published on websites that seem to be public domain and available for anyone. However, this is not true. It is important to take caution when using anything found on another person’s website, as it could constitute copyright infringement.

There are laws in place to protect copyrighted items from being stolen. Music, photos, videos, and just about any form of media falls under the spectrum of these laws, and anyone who even possesses stolen items could be punished. Even websites that do not explicitly state that the items are copyrighted, or items that are not registered, can still be protected under the restrictions. Subjects, characters, and storylines in books and online stories are often copyrighted and cannot be used without the express consent of the original author.

Students who are performing research online must be cautious when using information found within an assignment. Even if only using the ideas presented in an article or on a personal blog, the student must always cite a source that offered any insight into the subject matter. If quoting directly, quotation marks must be used. Many colleges and universities are using online databases to check for plagiarism, and violating this can sometimes be grounds for expulsion from the school.

Stealing from another is wrong, and items posted on websites are no exception. Users must be careful not to accidentally infringe any laws in order to protect the ideas and artistic expressions of others.

The most exciting part about being pregnant is how expecting parents announce their news to family, friends and co-workers. Many people love getting creative when they announce to the world that they’re going to be parents.

Whether you’re first time parents or not, once you find out your due date, making that big announcement is an exciting time. Thanks to social media and the Internet, there are so many creative ways you can share the news with your family and friends… once you’ve told your husband, of course! Here are a few popular ways to announce a pregnancy.

Sharing your News on the Internet

Sharing your important news with social media is an amazing thing. Millions of people log onto social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook each day. In just a matter of a couple of minutes, you can make an announcement, and people all over the world will know what’s going on.

Twitter is an outlet where celebrities reach out to their fans. Actress Tori Spelling announced her pregnancy via her Twitter account. While most people won’t announce a pregnancy on Twitter, they will make a post about it on their Facebook page that they use to stay in touch with family and friends who don’t necessarily live nearby.

Some women will post a photo of them holding their pregnancy test or will wait until they’re showing to post a photo of their beautiful growing belly. Pregnancy is an amazing and beautiful thing, and expecting mothers want to share it with the world. The most popular photo to post on Facebook, however, is a picture of the ultrasound.

Some stores have parking spots for women who are pregnant. Some women park in the spot and use that as a way to announce they’re pregnant. You can get a little more creative by taking a photo of your car parked in the spot and uploading it to Twitter & Facebook. That will definitely get people talking and guessing.

Using Items to Announce your Pregnancy

A popular item kids like to buy for their parents are mugs that say “I heart Mom” or “World’s Greatest Dad”. Sneak off to the store to purchase one of those mugs and give it to him in the morning with his coffee in it.

Putting the pregnancy test in a gift box is a great way of announcing a pregnancy. Instead of using the actual test, purchase another one from the dollar store and draw in the lines announcing you’re pregnant. This might be a better option over using the real one that still has urine on it.

Writing letters and making phone calls are out, and social media is in. With social media, there are so many fun and creative ways you can announce to people that you’re expecting. This is a huge moment in your life that you want to share with others… so think of fun, new ways to announce your amazing news.

Before the huge explosion of the Internet, obtaining a domain name used to be simple. However, several issues have developed concerning these names. Prior to the Internet gaining popularity, there was an activity that was being performed by “squatters” wherein a huge list of domain names were registered which may be similar to major companies and/or products. As these companies started to develop their websites, there were oftentimes required to go to these squatters to purchase the rights to use their own company’s name.

In 1999, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) implemented regulations for domain name registrations, as well as putting into place a dispute process for trademark and name infringement.

Presently, people wishing to register domain names must give accurate and proper information. In addition, a domain name that may infringe on another parties rights cannot be registered. A registrant who does register a name that infringes on another’s trademark or copyright, may be open for formal complaints and proceedings.

Purchasing domain names that may match a trademark and then attempting to sell that name to the trademark holder for profit may be considered “bad faith.” Bad faith is also represented by registrants who show squatting patterns by registering numerous domain names in order to resell or keep them from the actual copyright holders.

If a domain name holder receives a complaint, he or she must prove that there is a true and verifiable commercial use of that name. It must also be proved that the name was not acquired to be resold.

Protecting your online privacy is of the utmost importance. In today’s connected world, it is far too easy to lose your privacy to the hands of many unscrupulous individuals. What can you do if you have discovered that your privacy has been violated?

Your privacy rights are addressed with two acts: the 1974 Privacy Act and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1984. There are also many agencies that handle the enforcement of Internet privacy laws, including the FTC (Federal Trade Commission).

Protect yourself from privacy violations by thoroughly reading any and all privacy policies for any website entities you want to do business with. Do not, in any case provide private information, if you think that website may use your information fraudulently. Make sure you feel secure prior to any financial transactions.

If you feel your rights have been infringed, first research which agency will be appropriate for your particular situation. A simple internet search will identify the proper agency.

You have 180 days to report these violations under a general statute of limitations. Your individual state may also have other rules and regulations for reporting these violations .

Use the FTC’s online form to file a complaint. You can report cases of unwanted spyware installations, online shopping fraud and internet auction complaints using this process.

You can try to contact the disputed company directly to try resolving the issue prior to filing a formal complaint. If this fails, file the FTC report and be sure to attach any and all documentation, including prior attempts at resolution.

You may be looking for some music to accompany an online project or video that you want to disseminate publicly. You may be wanting to sell or distribute this project for profit; however, you are working on a budget. You are faced with finding just the right music to make your video project shine, but you don’t have the funds to purchase the right to many commercial songs.

However, there is an option. Whether you need some obscure, out there Delta blues song or an early Baroque piece it may be found in the public domain. You can also find out if a particular tune you want to record for profit is part of the public domain. With only a few exceptions, music is no longer has copyright protection 70 years after the death of the original composer. This mean after the copyright has expired, any one can profit from the piece.

It’s easy to find music and composition in the public domain.

Visit the Pubic Domain Information Project (pdinfo.com) or archive.org. Both of these sites have links to music and compositions that are in the public domain.

Determine the original publication date of composition you want to use. Certain arrangements of that particular song may still be copyright protected. Be certain that the arrangement you want to use is not protected.

Other public domain search options include the Library of Congress. In addition, you can submit a formal copyright search at www.copyright.gov.

There are millions of people around the globe who regularly use the internet to look up information, conduct researches, read the news, listen to music, play online games, communicate with friends and family and much more. This increasing incident of internet usage means that people are willing to share certain personal details over the net in order to get particular services. This is especially true in the case of social networking sites such as Facebook, Orkut and Twitter.

While sharing information online can seem safe enough, it might easily make you the victim of cyber crime. Cyber criminals devise all kinds of ways to get private details that can result in illegal usage of your bank account, identity theft as well as infecting your computer with viruses. This is why you need to be cautious when sharing information online. Here are some tips:

Before you sign up for a site that requires you to give out personal details like your email ID, date of birth or gender, make it a point to go through its privacy policy. This may take some time but will let you know if the site intends to share your information with ‘partners’ who may not be trustworthy!

Try not to check your mail or bank account from a shared computer. Computers at schools, libraries or internet cafes often don’t have safe connections and your activity may be tracked.

Never give out confidential information such as your social security number, passwords or account PIN numbers online, even when requested by a site. Companies don’t need these details for ANY online transaction, unless it’s a secured online payment.

Cyber crime has become one of the hottest topics being talked about around technological circles. No matter how many anti-virus, anti-spam and other such technologies are developed, the rate of cyber crime just keeps on growing. Most experts emphasize that a major part of online crimes such as identity theft, spamming, phishing and hacking are possible when cyber criminals have access to a person’s personal data.

In order to combat cyber crime effectively, it is you, the consumer that needs to be vigilant. Here are a few tips on how you can protect your privacy online:

Never give out confidential data such as your social security number, bank details or passwords over chat or in forums. Giving such details out to strangers is an absolute no-no but even when sharing it with family and friends, these details can be stolen by hackers. In fact, you shouldn’t disclose confidential information even if sites require them until and unless you are making payments through a secured gateway like Verified by Visa.

Install good anti-virus software on your computer that has features like protection against spam and phishing. Most modern anti-virus software com with these features built in and are effective in protecting your computer against virus attacks as well as hackers.

If you absolutely must share confidential information through email, make sure you encrypt it. Saving information as a document and then send it as a .zip file is also safer than sending it out as regular email.

There are paid services like Anonimizer that allow you to connect directly to your proxy server enabling you to use the internet anonymously.

Instances of identity theft, virus attacks and online frauds and scams have been making the news for years now. IT giants struggle to churn out updated anti-virus software that can battle the growing onslaught of virtual threats. Yet, the tide of cyber crime doesn’t seem to be abating. Despite increasing awareness about online scams, people still fall victims to cyber criminals. Online privacy protection experts have kept saying that, at a base level, the safety of surfing the internet lies with the consumer.

In other words, if you want to protect yourself from cyber crime, then the first steps towards safety have to be taken by you! You may be wondering what you can possibly do to protect yourself from cyber criminals. Here are some handy tips!

Whenever registering at a site you will most likely be asked to fill out a registration form that has several information fields. Provide only that information that is marked as mandatory and leave the rest blank.

Even when providing mandatory data, make sure the site isn’t asking for details that may be misused. Such information would include your bank account details, social security number, passwords or Personal Identification Numbers and other such confidential information.

If you are making online purchases that require you to give your credit or debit card details, make sure it is using a secure payment gateway like Verified by Visa.

To know what information about you is available on the internet, try searching your own name through a search engine like Google. If you see anything you don’t want to share, go to site and have the data removed.

When you are strapped for cash, a refinancing your car can be a good way to get the money you need. Unfortunately, if you are not careful about the company you choose to refinance your car, you could run into many problems. But with a little care and discretion, you can feel secure with a reliable auto refinance company.

When looking into car refinance options, one of the best ways to find a good company is to look for reviews from past customers. Reviews tend to cover a wide range of aspects of a company and can give you a good idea of how an auto refinance company works. Reviews are also written from the perspective of a customer, so you can get an idea of not only how well the company works, but specifically how well the company will work for you.

There are also a couple things you should look for in an auto refinance company. The company you deal with should have experience and should probably be an older company. These companies tend to be more stable and have a better idea of how your situation can be helped. Also, shop around for a good deal. Do not expect to get a good deal if you only spend a few minutes Googling auto refinance companies.

Your choice of an auto refinance company is important, and you should dedicate research time to finding a good company. Your car is important, and so is your need for cash, so look for a company that will treat both issues with care.

The rules of the “cyber-world” are just like the rules of engagement; you have to play it safe and make sure you are being cautious and smart in all you do. The Internet is one of those places that takes that into effect. You have know right from wrong all the time and with everything thing you do.

For example, it’s important to understand not just the security of an exchange server, but its limits as well. Be aware of the laws of certain websites and be sure that you read over the entire terms and condition sections. You can make it so much easier just by reading these laws because they will explain everything and offer guidance of what activity is and is not allowed on that particular website. Just remember that all websites usually have these posted and it is worth reading and digesting.

When creating things on the web you really have to be aware you are acting properly. Copyrights are one of those things. You need to be sure that when you are creating or doing something on the Internet, that it is nothing that would push the boundaries of copyright laws. These laws are vital to a very stable Internet system.

Keeping these things in mind as you surf the Internet or use your exchange server will make it much easier to go in sync with the web. Even though there are quite a few laws that you need to follow, the Internet is pretty much an open playing field. To help protect yourself, you should consider privacy scans.

Internet privacy is very important for not only protecting emails and thoughts, but also to prevent identity theft. It is very important for the users to use Internet safely and securely to protect themselves. Whether the internet users use their personal computer at home or at work, there are different methods available to protect their privacy. Here are few methods to protect privacy when using Internet.

Image via Wikipedia

The new technologies have made hackers to easily access network of other Internet users. Therefore, users should use some basic techniques while accessing Internet at home such as buying own router, using secure encryption, protecting router with password, controlled sharing methods, and activating anti-virus and firewall programs. Buying own router provide better equipment quality and also the users can rely on their security configuration.

Encrypting sensitive data is very important and most wireless routers are provided with data encryption that can be easily changed by the Internet users to improve their security. The default password provided in the router should be changed and the new password should be very difficult to crack. Also, while sharing folders, it is better to avoid sensitive data. Finally, PC should have firewall and anti-virus, and also it should be updated with the latest security patches.

Some of the techniques that should be used to protect privacy when using computers on public Wi-Fi are activating firewall, encrypting the sensitive data files, avoiding the use of sensitive information, and disabling wireless. These are only few techniques to protect privacy when accessing Internet.

When talking about Android I’m not talking about science fiction robots that walk and talk like humans. It is the new cell phone and tablet operating system that is taking the world by storm. Android is an Open Source operating system that was founded in 2003 and then purchased by Google in 2005 and developed by them and other members of the Open Handset Alliance. The first Android phone came out in late 2008 and took the market by storm. The point of the Android platform was to give the user more options, better reliability and to directly compete with the Apple iPhone.

Since Androids inception, it has been developed and tweaked to be able to run on various other devices. The Android operating system can be found on netbooks and tablets as well as cell phones. With Android being owned by Google, it gives the operating system more leverage to produce more mobile applications. Android is an Open Source operating system which allows multiple different companies and users to contribute to it’s development. This gives the software more power as it has the collective minds of the whole world, instead of just Google employees.

Android is currently on it’s 6 version of the operating system with version 3.0, codenamed Honeycomb, out in 2011. Some people wonder if Google is able to compete with Apple in the cellphone and tablet markets. Well, in the fourth quarter of 2010, Android became the world’s best-selling cellphone operating system. How is that for a start? With 2011 well under way, Apple will certainly have some compition on it’s hands. And it comes in the form of Anroid.

Have you ever stopped to think about the T.V. that you are sitting there watching right now? The first television sets started off in the late 1920′s and was black and white. These TV sets were not like the ones made today. There was a turn knob to change the channel and volume. Yes, that’s right, you had to get up to change the channel. Or, you could have your kids do it. In the mid 1950′s, color was added to the TV sets. This was mainly owned by the wealthier consumers as the price was still fairly high.

Free here, ownership of a TV set exploded. By the 1980′s every household owned a TV set and some had multiple sets in their homes. TV’s got bigger and less expensive. In 1998, the flat panel TV was introduced by Philips. This allows for a thinner and lighter TV. The two different types of mainstream flat panels are Plasma and LCD. The quality on these two types of TVs are sharper, brighter, and clearer then their predecessors. This types of TVs also use less power to run.

TV signals also started out as an analog radio transmission. Signals are now required to be digital and the option is also there for a high definition signal. 3-D TVs have just hit the market and boast the fact that you can watch any programming or movie in 3-D right from the comfort of your own home. So grab some popcorn and watch till your hearts content.

Most people don’t think about their hard drive space or, physically, how big their hard drive is. Hard drives first came around in the mid 1950′s as data storage for IBM. The first hard drives were roughly the size of a small room and was able to store a whopping 4MB of data. The physical size of the hard drive shrunk as the data storage capacity grew for the next 40 years. As computers became more mainstream in the 1990′s, storage capacity doubled roughly every 2 years.

A typical hard drive consists of a platter or platters where the information is stored, read/write heads that store and access the information, and motors to drive the read/write heads. There is also removable media that is used in devices such as digital cameras, cell phones, and MP3 players. This type of drive does not use motors and platters, but instead uses electrical contacts to read and write data.

SSD or Solid-State Drives have been around since the 1970′s and is the form used in the removable cards is in digital devices. This is beneficial as they can be dropped with little to no damage done. The contact pins are recessed so that they aren’t touched easily. Other media that has been produced is the 5 1/4” floppy disk, the 3 1/2” floppy disk which wasn’t so floppy, the CD and the DVD. These types of media were used for transportation of data in a portable version. Currently, most people use a USB flash drive or portable hard drive to store data. These are perfect, but you still want to take precautions as some data is priceless and may not be able to be easily recovered. The best option is to back up sensitive data in multiple locations.

With the birth of the Internet, we find ourselves with a wealth of information at our fingertips. We can look up anything from how long to cook your Thanksgiving Day turkey to who invented the airplane. However, this access to information also can lead to plagiarism or copyright infringement. More and more students, from elementary school to college, are searching the internet for content to use for their homework assignments. This is defiantly are great way to gather information, however, how many or just copying and pasting this information right into their papers?

Much of the content that is found on the internet is copyrighted material. This means that the material belongs to the person or persons that wrote the material. You are not allowed to copy, reproduce, or publish this content as your own. The earliest form of copyrighting dates back to 15th century Europe to regulate and control printing by churches and government.

Once the distribution of music and movies became more common place, copyright laws extended into these areas as well. International copyright law was now needed to protect the owners of this material worldwide. As computers become common place in the home, peer-to-peer networks became popular as a way to illegally distribute movies, music, and software to users worldwide. The two most notable of these networks is Napster and Limewire. Millions of users access copyrighted content for personal use and some will even copy this material to CD’s and DVD’s for sale. There are now multiple organizations worldwide, such as the RIAA or Recording Industry Association of America, that work for a particular industry to stop copyright infringement. The impact of copyright infringement is huge. The recording industry itself loses over $7 billion dollars a year. Think about it the next time you want to not pay for that song.

For many people, Online Casino Games are used for entertainment or to relieve stress. However, there are many legal issues surrounding online gambling. Should you wish to play in any of these online gambling sites, it is important that you brush up on the laws to make sure that you are not breaking any state or federal laws.

Here are some issues and laws you should brush up on to make sure you are following all known online gambling laws.

Prize Money

Many United States laws allow online gambling as long as there is no monetary gain for playing. These sites can offer prizes, trips, and cars, but they cannot offer cash. However, in some states, receiving cash from online gambling sites is legal, so it is important to make sure you understand what your state allows.

Location of the Website’s Servers

Some states will allow online gambling as long as the servers of the website are located in the state the players reside in or on Indian reservations. This can often make it difficult to follow, as many players are not able to find out where the servers are located, and in some cases the servers are located all over the United States and even internationally.

While most online casino gaming sites are legal and follow all state and federal laws, some do not. Even though most reputable sites will inform you whether you are breaking any laws, it is recommended that you brush up on your state’s online gambling laws to make sure that you are not breaking any rules.

Sometimes it is hard to keep up with the ever changing technology world. First, there were the original desktop computers. Then along came the ever popular laptops. This allowed you to take more work home with you, like you really wanted that to happen. And then, how could we forget the cell phone? You were able to stay connected to family, friends, and clients even when they weren’t at home. Cell phones then evolved into something more. Cells are now able to send text messages to virtually anyone. You can send them to other phones, use them to enter contests, and even get the latest and greatest deals from your favorite store or restaurant. Surfing the Internet has also become common place on a cell phone. You are now able to look up anything at any time and even get directions without touching a computer. Could your grandparents even fathom this day? And now, we have netbooks and tablets. A netbook is a scaled down version of a laptop with a smaller screen. There is not CD or DVD drive for you to I stall extra software from or to watch a DVD. However, it gives you the versatility of having a smaller computer to take with you and you can still surf the web, read and send emails, and work on the paper that was due yesterday. Tablets are even more scaled back. Some argue that this is the future of computing. Tablets have a very small amount of internal memory, compared to a PC. They allow youth watch movies, read e-books, send and receive email, and even watch movies. Tablets typically have a 7″ or 10″ viewing area and is touch screen. Tablets get their name because it is about the size and weight of an actual writing tablet. The birth of tablets is just beginning and it will be interesting to see what happens next.

There has been a lot of debate lately on whether social networking sites protect your privacy. Most of the social networking sites require your name, email address, a user-name and password. However, there are some sites that also require, or ask, for additional information and their default settings are to allow other users, whether friends or not, to see this information. How is this protecting your privacy? There are a few companies that are changing your default privacy settings, but they are far from where they need to be.

What would happen it someone hacked into your account? Your personal information is readily available to this hacker. There are possibly personal photos of you and your family. This allows the hacker to easily see where you live, what your phone number is, and the could even check your previous posts to see what your daily routine is. Is this safe? Imagine if someone you don’t know decides to “friend” you on Facebook. This person looks harmless enough and you decide to accept the friendship. This person now knows where you live.

Make sure that you check your privacy settings on each and every social networking site. Make sure that only Friends can see your personal information and make sure to verify each person that requests you as a friend or follows you.

Now, not every story of privacy invasion in social networking is bad. There have been some lives saved due to the diligence of mindful users alerting the proper authorities in a users time of need. Social networking is certainly apart of many lives, not just in the USA, but in the entire world. However, we need to take every precaution to make sure that our information is safe. Check your privacy settings and make sure to only allow people you know to see your information. It’s your responsibility to check yourself safe from prying eyes.

If you use the Internet often, there’s a good chance that you’ll need to rely upon assistance from a technical support staff at some point. To help the experience go smoothly for yourself as well as the person who is helping you, there are a few simple things that you can do.

First of all, plan out what you’re going to say before you actually call for assistance. Be prepared to discuss any aspect of the technology that is failing and causing you to call for help, and be able to adequately describe exactly what you’re doing as the problem occurs. If the problem is related to an Internet destination that you are visiting, make sure to find out what web browser you’re using when the problem occurs, and determine the speed of your Internet connection.

Technical support is commonly offered over the telephone. However, some people get very flustered when they’re required to use the phone. If you count yourself among them, make the task easier on yourself, as well as the technical support staff by jotting down notes to help you during the call. Alternatively, you could see if the company you wish to contact offers support in other ways such as through online chats, or e-mail.

Finally, whether your technical troubles are related to the Internet, a type of software, or an operating system, never contact customer support without being nearby the product that is not working properly. The technical support staff members will often require you to test out certain product functionalities, or examine any applicable settings, and it will be frustrating for the both of you if you’re unable to comply with their requests to troubleshoot the problem.

The Internet is a great resource, and if you have children, it’s important to raise them in such a way that will allow them to be technologically competent throughout their lives. Although they will likely have the opportunity to use computers in school, this is often not quite enough to give them the best chance to explore the capabilities of technology. As a parent, you can help your kids learn to love the Internet by accompanying them to their favorite websites. Help them to understand that the Internet can be used for a blend of fun activities as well as a learning tool.

There’s a good chance that your kids will become curious about the opportunities related to chatting with other people online, or becoming pals with someone through e-mail. This can be a great way to allow your kids to appreciate other cultures and to express themselves to others. However, of course there are several important safety considerations. In order to keep your children safe from Internet predators, you should supervise their online activity at all times.

Caution your kids about the dangers of giving out too much information to someone that they don’t know well. It may be a good idea to coach your children to only use their first name when chatting with other people so that they are not as easily identified. If it comes to the point where pictures are exchanged, arrange to view the files before your children see them so that you can verify that they are legitimate. The Internet can be a great place for your kids to learn and play, but the importance of parental supervision cannot be overemphasized.

In today’s technology driven culture, it’s easier than ever to find places to connect to the Internet even while traveling. However, even though these Internet “hotspots” are very convenient, they can also compromise your level of privacy during your browsing activities. In order to keep yourself as secure as possible, it’s best to use a password protected wireless network. If you are using the Internet in a place that has a high level of visibility, take care before entering any confidential information such as banking passwords or credit card information. Ideally, these sorts of activities would be better off left until you are able to access the Internet in a more private setting.

If you are using a public terminal, make sure to clear your browsing history, cookies and any stored passwords before leaving the computer. Failure to do so could give the next user easy access to your information without your knowledge. If you have to leave the computer for a moment, make sure that you don’t leave any confidential information visible on the screen in your absence.

Although this all may seem like common sense, the fact that we have become so accustomed to technology often leads to a false sense of security. Although it is usually safe to browse online at your leisure, you can offer yourself a further degree of protection simply by taking care to keep sensitive data private. If you have reason to believe that any of your accounts have been compromised, take action by changing your passwords immediately.

Internet and Marketing

The internet is a source of many things which you might have realized by now. It can give you a chance to keep in touch with your old friends and family who are away from you or have been unable to be in touch due to the hectic lifestyles. It can also let you earn degrees in various subjects and fields through the online classes that are provided by many sites and people.

One of the important applications of the internet apart from the others mentioned above is the marketing of your products and services efficiently. This is something which has caught on in the past few years and the trend seems to be growing day by day. The internet marketing has been proved to be highly effective and a very cheap way of marketing the products and services.

People find it much more convenient to search the internet for the things they want rather than browse through the stores or walk around searching what they need. It would be a waste of time and energy. Through internet marketing you can achieve your target as there are many people who would have a peek at the things you have to offer them.

The internet is also a database with huge amount of data on many things ranging from the common things you see on a daily basis to the unheard of things that you might not have even known existed. Hence, if you are selling some product or service which is a bit unusual or something that has some new concept added on to it, people could search for it and make up their minds whether they need it or not.

Also, the internet is visited by millions of people daily. If you have a very good advertising sense then you would probably end up getting good targets every month. In fact you can increase your popularity and your business finance by having good marketing techniques on the internet which, as of today, is the best and most convenient form of marketing goods and services.

Customers that visit a company’s website present a great opportunity from the standpoint of the business in question. Whether the visitor is searching for a particular product/service, a loyal customer, or for any other reason, connecting to the customer is extremely important for the needs of both sides.

Online surveys present an easy-to-use way to do this. Imagine being able to get the first impressions of users that happen to stumble across the website, for any reason. Or, to take another advantage into mind, getting insightful comments to customers who are familiar with the business, who have experienced the business prior.

Survey software allows businesses to do this, safely, legally, and with great ease. Implementing online surveys offers a level of versatility that can be customized. You can set up different surveys based on the customer, or even a product or service that is offered.

Different surveys can be used to take advantage of the simplicity or the complexity that survey software offers. Including a one-question survey at key points of the site can be beneficial; such as a “did this page help” question on a FAQ page, as it can be seen on some websites. More dedicated and in-depth surveys can allow customers to truly share their thoughts and opinions.

The level of versatility with survey software is not to be under appreciated. Not to mention, it is again easy to implement on an existing website.

The benefits that online surveys bring are of great impact. It allows any type of business an avenue of communication from customers and guests. These can be taken, identified, and used to improve both the website and the products/goods that are offered. Take some time to identify and learn what different types of online surveys can contribute to the business. The impact of online surveys to a company’s website can be staggering.

Copyright literally imply the right to copy. Copyright jurisprudence protects intellectual property. It checks that no one other than the originator himself can replicate a specific work he has produced. The original work of an author is safeguarded by this law. These works may admit dramatic world, music, computer software, movies and literary makes like novels, short stories, essays etc. But copyright law does not protect original thoughts and facts. But the mode in which these matters are showed can be protected through the copyright law.

Intellectual property can be retained in 3 ways.
• Inventions and works to improve those inventions are protected through patents
• The second one i.e. trademarks can safeguard projects relevant to specific products of companies.
• Copyright protects literary works, artistic and music
Copyright is related with safeguarding literary, scientific or artistic works of the human mind. They admit records, papers, booklets and other pieces of writing, music, fine arts works like paintings and carvings, speeches and works like, Dramas, Musical composition, Architecture, drawings, engravings, Translations and applied science based works like computer programs and databases.

Let us look at some examples to get to this idea more clearly.
All Video games are covered with copyright laws.
Movies like The Pianist – they are literary and movie works and are copyrighted as well.
Michael Jackson music – his dongs are copyright protected
From the very instance you create the work the original work is under copyright protection and make it tangible so that audience can log into their systems or use any device to access them directly. As soon as you write a book or frame a song. The protection is suitable to any fresh work for a particular frame of time and inside that time frame no one other than the originator of the work can earn profit from the work until the originator himself gives accordance.
