Can you keep up?

Sometimes it is hard to keep up with the ever changing technology world. First, there were the original desktop computers. Then along came the ever popular laptops. This allowed you to take more work home with you, like you really wanted that to happen. And then, how could we forget the cell phone? You were able to stay connected to family, friends, and clients even when they weren’t at home. Cell phones then evolved into something more. Cells are now able to send text messages to virtually anyone. You can send them to other phones, use them to enter contests, and even get the latest and greatest deals from your favorite store or restaurant. Surfing the Internet has also become common place on a cell phone. You are now able to look up anything at any time and even get directions without touching a computer. Could your grandparents even fathom this day? And now, we have netbooks and tablets. A netbook is a scaled down version of a laptop with a smaller screen. There is not CD or DVD drive for you to I stall extra software from or to watch a DVD. However, it gives you the versatility of having a smaller computer to take with you and you can still surf the web, read and send emails, and work on the paper that was due yesterday. Tablets are even more scaled back. Some argue that this is the future of computing. Tablets have a very small amount of internal memory, compared to a PC. They allow youth watch movies, read e-books, send and receive email, and even watch movies. Tablets typically have a 7″ or 10″ viewing area and is touch screen. Tablets get their name because it is about the size and weight of an actual writing tablet. The birth of tablets is just beginning and it will be interesting to see what happens next.
